Back in The Scene.

Acting.. AGAIN !! After a long break (but 2 or 3 months) I'm finally acting again this time for school ( something out of the ordinary ). But those of you close one know I enjoy acting and being part of dramas, plays and skits or sketches. However, this time its going to be even tougher as I'm the director for the skit again. Thank God for my Main Committe and Dex who were helping me through ad getting all the ideas for the first Scene today. We had our first practice and briefing today. Had lotz of fun and frustrations as you know its gonna be hard controlling your OWN SCHOOL MATES !!! Aaaarrrrgggghhhh !!!..but as I said had lotz of fun again. By the way, the skit we're permorming will be for the upcomming GRC Youth Rally in September.

Working with my youth in church tell me a few things, but there's one thing that had struck me over and over again as we was practicing for the skit. It came to a part where there was a Christian and a non-Christian having a conversation (note that our practice conversation was in impromtu) ,"Why don't you go to church . It's fun and the people the are fun and lively too !"said the Christian. "No lar, the Cyber ( cafe ) is more fun lar,"replied the non-Christian, who was played by David to impersonate a real non-believer. It struck-I cou;dn't argue with that. Sometimes, people in church give the impression that we're either not interested or a solemn look always seem to mask ours(including myself)..

In Galatians, Paul writes and shows us the Fruit of the Spirit - JOY is one of 'em. Christians, especially my fellow youth, stand up and show yourself full of joy. Joy is not happiness, neither is happinass joy. Joy is something too deep that even non-Christians cannot experience. That is why it's a fruit only when you have the SPIRIT !! If you can only have happiness and not joy than you would not seem different from those outside. So release your care and burdens on Jesus for He cares for you !! - that your joy may be full !!!

GRC Camp 2007

Hai !! Long time no blog.. My experience at Broga was undescribable ( if there's such a word ) . 14 of us, Klang people went to Broga Campsite for GRC's annual Leadership Camp 2007. When we went we were told that that was no electricity in the whole town !! Worst part was , in order to have water in the campsite you needed electricity !! We couldn't do anything.. I was a group leader of a fabulous team and had another fantastic 5 fellow group leaders. Our team was in charge of all the dishes and cleaning up for the first dinner. Was soooooo tired and in the end we didn't have our night walk and had a time of Praise and Worship instead.. IN THE DARK !! To cut the story short, God was just waiting for us to praise him.. We started our praise and worship at about 8 p.m. and at 10.15 p.m. - when we were singing " Our God is and Awesome God" - The lights came on and it was just awesome. So, we were suppose to have a fantastic good night's rest but let's just say that our night was a shake with much laughter..


Second day, we were in for a really tiring day ( eventhough the first day I could hardly stand up after all the cleaning up ). We went for an obstacle course right after breakfast with my team. We were the fisrt team to do it therefore the not-so-good-results.. and a really bad stomach for me though. So the rest of my team went on the flying fox and I sat there waiting for lunch and the pond rafting. We got first on our "weird way" of conquering the pond by going in circles and getting leaves. To Dev -I mention leaves.. not grass and please don't leave. It rained, everyone who thought they'd leave the pond dry was wrong !! We had a fabulous dinner and had a birthday "party" to planned. Dex and Shaun spent bout 3 more extra hours in David and my dorm.


Can't really remember much about the last day.. We had to finalize our mega lame cheer in the tune of 'Jingle Bells' - Stomp way, using instuments of cups and spoons ( don't know if we washed them after that ). We just got an award for the best team overall camp and it was good-bye!!

A Thousand Apologies !!

Yo ! A thousand apologies for the late blogging- I totally did not have any time on Sunday and Monday.. Nothing really happened on Monday except a day back at school.. And a good movie at midnight.. On Sunday, church was good.. We had a fundraising in church for our Teen Scene Camp and since I was in charge of the fundraisers, I was kinda running around like a mad person wandering aimlessly.. Haha ! But in th3 end we got to collect RM 5** which means we're left with about RM 900 left to raise. Then later, we had probably one of the best Sunday Schools in a very very very loooooong time. WE HAD AT LEAST 80 OR MORE CHILDREN !! - which is one of the best numbers we got in at least 2 or 3 years.. The Teen Scene itself hit at least 30 !! Everyone, then, enjoyed "Joseph : King of Dreams " which was the movie shown to the King's Kidz and Teen Scene on that day. Those of you who have seen the movie you know how awesome it is ( so luv it especially the songs- eg: 'You Know Better Than I' and 'More Than You Take' ) Later, went for a well deserved walk at my third home - 1 Utama.. had a lovely time and a lovely meal too..


As I said nothing much happened on Monday and never thought I'd say this but nothing much happened on Tuesday either. God has again pull me through another weekend ! Its been a crazy 2 months ( since the 9TH OF JUNE !!!! ) and will continue to be crazy in terms of work - those who know, you understand. Sigh.. Going into "camp week" really giving me mixed feelings - happy yet tired yet excited yet frustrated yet.. words just can't describe it.. A thousand apologies !!


P.S : Everyone whom I don't see very often pls just get in touch through the c-box. That's partly what's the blog's for.

Saturdays.. Urgh !!

Hey there !! I've had a hectic day as usual. You won't belive how tired I am right now.. In the morning ( to te surprise of many ) .. I sad "bye-bye" to my two year and a half year companion - my bracers.. So weird - I feel like there's so much of space in my mouth !! After the whole dentist thing happened , we went to Real Sports Arena for Copa Iba 2007 - It was simply maddening. It was the first time Copa Iba was held in Klang and guess what - it was the fist time and probably will be the only time a person from Klang Jaya Gospel Hall was the chairman for Copa Iba ( Eugene.. ).



Teen Scene Klang Jaya Gospel Hall took 3 teams to the Arena altogether .. 2 two futsal teams and a captain ball team . There lots of non-Christians that joined us this year. Hoping that they would come back.. Anyway , we were there for so long and cheering was exasperating !! ( especially being one of the few male cheerleaders.. hahaha !! ) Bottles clanging , Pom-poms waving , people shouting, referees blowing and best thing -meeting up with the lads from Klang and Port Klang !! In the end , we got to the quater-finals for captain ball and lost there ( our worst result in 5 years.. and after being champs last year.. Sigh ! ). Our futsal got up to the semis and lost merely by a penalty shoot-out , and even that went into sudden death. The other team were out in the first round.. After that, we started cheering for Klang ( our mother church ) who reached the semis of captain-ball. They lost there !! To list the names that were cheering for that semi-final would take me til tomorrow.. Let's just say Agape Gospel Chapel was too good for anyone in Klang - they trashed us 34-6 to take us out of this year's tournement and beat Klang , also, by a large number of points. Not long after that we were glad to leave the Arena. Just thanking God that none of us were hurt in any way although so many of us were totally exhausted. Also, thank God for the large number of non-Christians who heard the Gospel this morning - approximately 400 non-Christian youths !!!


That took up the largest chunk of my day today !! Other than that , attended Theodore's first birthday and saw his most adorable cousin David who happens to be another Chindian.. Sigh.. I'm telling you people - Chindian babies are the most adorable *perasan*.. hey, noone argues with facts okay ??!! .. hahahahahaha !! Hey- its been one tiring, exhausting day . I've gotta call it a day..

Biggest Sigh of Relief !!

Hi, guys !! I don't know how to put it more direct but..

DEV AND DEX ARE GOING FOR CAMP !!!

So , I guess I'm kinda having a time of my life.. And so is Shaun - now that he won't be the only guy in the Survival camp.I've never really introduce my 'buds' from school yet..

So, anyway that was probably the highlitght of my day so far.. It's been a hectic ..real hectic day in school.. so this was how it all came down :

When it came to about 11:40 , we all went into the Science lab. After we prayed, it was already lunch time ( by this time everyone knew that Dev was not going for the camp and that the guys have been persuading him to go ). So when we came out, David was still all over Dev like some paparrazzi asking him to go for the camp.. When Mrs. Poh asked David what was he(David) doing to Dev and David ( thought he ) cleverly answered ," CONVINCING HIM to go for the camp !! " . Mrs. Poh's next few words would just have to go down as one of the lines that resulted in the most emotions in GRC KLANG history !!! ... "Dev, You haven't told them the good news ah ??" At that very moment, time stood still . It was a time that was simply undescribable.. Shaun was the first one to pounce on Dev and give him the biggest hug you'd ever seen !! [ ok.. ok.. over exagerating a little but it still was a fantastic moment ].. Later, we called Dex, and told him that Dev might be going if he goes.. we just said that on the spot to because we wanted everyone to go.. and Dex replied ," I AM GOING !!" ..and that was it , I think I didn't even say bye.. just was to exited , I hung up !! - sorry , Dex !

Wat a days' it's been - well worth it.. Today, when someone prayed and started with," Thank you , Lord for today.." , you could almost hear the 'AMEN's from two floors down.. Yes, indeed - THANK YOU LORD FOR A DAY WELL USED TO ITS FULLEST EXTENT !!

Guys, help me continue to pray for Dev that even when he goes to camp , he would experience God and of course , enjoy himself !!

Re-united !! - hopefully

Hey , all . I'm gonna write real quick.. I've got much to write but so little time. What a fulfilling day it has been.. The day kicked off with football training in the morning with Coach LaMar Tini ( get it.. 'kicked off with FOOTBALL TRAINING' - fine, lame yea right !! ). Anyway, today we learnt lotz of skills.. When it came to the game, I was grouped with Shaun and Dev !!.. While David had Jeffery, Andrew AND Graham.. I really had the jitters just looking that the team that stood on the opposite side of the pitch. As Dev said, God did a miracle !! It ended 4-1 !
WE HAD ACTUALLY WON .. even coach was surprise and neither David nor I scored one goal. Something else had happened during the training that probably completed smiles on my fellow students' face..

DEX CAME TO SCHOOL.. FINALLY !!!

So I guess everyone kinda had an absolutely fantastic day especially the 5 of us ( Dex, David , Dev, Shaun and I ) .. This feeling was short-lived when Dev was still adament in not going for the up-coming GRC camp.. Dex came just for a few minutes and already was going - unless he had a medical appointment. I so hope both can make it.. It'll be so nice if can actually happen.. Dev plaese go !!.. I can ask any more direct.. After school, Dev was completely bombarded with persuasions and even verses in the Bible to tell him that He is special in God's eyes and we have done so much for him.. Now, we are just asking him to join us for camp..

Everyone ..take care and just remember one thing trough today's post - God does anyhting he wants with you for You are His !! He wants the best out of you and you have got to be ready at anytime..

My friends, please pray for Dev !! .. oh yeah , also pray for Dex that they both will be able to make it for the camp.. I got the feeling God will be doing wonders there !

As Usual..

I somehow have the time to waste it these last few days. So today was just another ordinanry day. Tiring , though. ( After the big fund-raising yesterday and the committe meeting in the night ) Sigh. Going to school today was somewhat a real drag. Even trying to remember what happened is so blurry right now. I didn't have my Bible with me in school today .So , instead for my davotion , I read Ps. Tan Soo-Inn's articles from Grace@work which was published in the July issue of the Bethany Bugle. There was an article there that was cleverly titled," I am proud of my Humility". It goes on to say.. ,

"Are you humble ? This is the ultimate Catch-22 question. To answer in the negative is to admit that you are not humble. T answer "yes" is to reveal that you have a somewhat high opinion of yourself and therefore, are not really humble." It ends by saying..,

"James 4:6 tells us 'God opposes the proud but favors the humble'. Don't know about you but I don't relish the idea of being opposed by God" writes Mr. Soo-Inn.

For the rest of the day - I was completely packed with test after test. Had an interesting lunch ( still trying to convince the adament Dev to go for the GRC Camp !! ).. Kinda of given up now.. Time to take on new hobbies !! Thanks to tests , I finished my works early and was able to finish a lot of the work I was suppose to do fo the Jumble Sale : eg.- pricing and stuff.. After school, which was soooo sooo super duper late , went to see my God-sibling ( he's 5 years old )in his grandmother's house.. He was half asleep and trying his best to talk in a Superman costume *how cute*.. Nothing really much from then on.. Just another powerful day,.. as usual !!

What if...?

What if...? What if I'm not here writing this post ? You wouldn't know what I've actually gone through in the past 2 days.. 07/07/07 - Was a day full of weddings..( not mine ah ).. In the morning , we went to Yew Tong's wedding which was simple.. didn't really have a good rest after that but had to ready 'coz by 5pm, we all had to get ready and go to Hin Hua for the rather long-awaited : Interschool Rally - What If..?

Coming out the Hin Hua auditorium after it was over , I was having mixed feelings about soooooo many things..

I was amazingly awed by the planning of the whole thing. It was planned so well and detailed. One the best planning among the ISCF rallies I've been !

I was so sad that I saw so many people I knew who were doing so much and were somehow dissillussioned that they were already Christians just by going to the rally every year and being a committee member or and usher or something. Many people simply just go simply because the 'cool kids in school' go for it. Christians in schools out there let me tell you something - "You're out there for a purpose . Get as many souls for Jesus and do your own follow ups. Make sure the friends do not get dissillusioned about what Christianity is and check on their spiritual walk.. after all, they are YOUR friends and therefore YOUR responsibility!! "

It was eye-opening when I got to see some enthusiasm in the faces of some of the Teen Scene members..FINALLY !( hope you guys continue in your enthusiasm as I saw k , guys ? )

Lastly , I know that that saying I'm proud of something is really being either like a total weirdo or some "sisified" person ( ..or so the world says ) but I know that God has given fantastic friends to work with in the last few years . Seeing Dex jumping on the stage almost with a broken leg and Lyon helping out with so many things made me realize that this is our peak.. Do your most for God at this time - you're only young once . As friends , that made me so proud !!

Long Wait

Hey !! Back again on the time-wasting schedule. Today , nothing really much happened other than I was totally sick but atill had to go to school simply because of chapel which I had to play the piano. After such a long long long loooooooooooooooooong ( I think you get the picture ) wait , I finally got to play the piano along-side the well-talented Shaun as Sher Wyn songled for the first time in GRC history *claps* .. We also celebrated Graham birthday with a gorgeos , most magnificent cake from Secret Recipe.. Yum.. It was a Chocolate cake stuffed with banana pieces.. Although it was a bad idea to eat bananas since I was sick and there was chapel later - Who cares ? You have got to pity Graham's Mom.. She bought the cake all the way from Secret Recipe.. The least I could do was to eat the cake.. Hahaha.. Thanks Graham ( and his Mom )!! At chapel , we got rather surprised [ no offense , SWT ] when she songled quite well !! Then , Dev spoke about music [ although both Dev and Music ussually don't go in the same sentence ].. His message was one that I think we all ( especially me and probably the seniors ) benefited from.

O.. What A Day !!

Sigh.. From the Fellowship hall back to the Center. hEY , ALL !! After three whole hot and playful days studying in the Fellowship hall , its back to the Center we go. ..so miss the place !! However , its good to know that wherver we go, God follows us. We had a committee meeting fot the long-awaited GRC RALLY !! .. and things are going as planned so far - all by God's grace. We had to vote on the best T-Shirt design for the rally. and finally combine a few entries including the samples. I had an absolutely mad time doing an experiment with David , Dev, Crystal and Neethu. What a blast ( although I was sooooooo mad , they even called me a drunk ) .. stil hate Science, though . A day completely filled with laughter, making decisions, punching, annoying others through my madness, and utter madness !! God bless you all.

Introduction..

Hi , There !! Joel here . Most people just call me Jo. If you think of it, everyone calls me Jo except the school guys . Personally, I really hate blogs and feel its a complete waste of time .. but that's excactly what I'm doing now. Sigh !! I am a Christian and I attend the Klang JKaya Gospel Hall church in Klang Jaya .. duh ! I am the currently in charge of the Games and Praise & Worship section of our youth group - the 'Teen Scene'. As for my tiring weekdays , I spend quite a bit of time in the place I call , "one of my favourite place in d' world" - you won't believe it if I tell you that I am actually describing.. MY SCHOOL !! Its more the people - I have great friends everywhere at anytime. Its just too bad my "FRIENDS"ter isn't quite working . Hence ,the reason for my blog. As for the reason of the title ? We were having our devotion in school today and I happen to stumble across Proverbs 16 ,"Commit to the LoRD whatever you do , and your plans will succeed" . So , I decided to involve God in every part of this blog. Well, I hope to get news from old friends as those I meet everyday ! Cyea ! God Bless ,
